What to Expect

Our cooking events take place at The Skript Kitchen in Vancouver, a street-level, collaborative space designed for groups of 2 to 34 participants. Choose from our curated recipe selection and we’ll take care of sourcing ingredients and providing all the necessary cooking equipment. Many recipes can be customized to be vegan or vegetarian, with gluten-free options available depending on the dish. Liquor service can be arranged upon request.

We also offer off-site cooking experiences; see on-location pricing below for details.

Pasta Therapy is an immersive culinary workshop that blends hands-on learning with a refined dining experience. Led by private chefs Trevor Pavle and Kiernan Nichols, co-founders of Savora Kitchen, guests are guided through the art of fresh pasta making before enjoying a beautifully plated tasting of their finished dish.

  • Founder & Registered Dietitian

    Renée Chan, founder of The Skript Kitchen, is a Registered Dietitian certified in both Canada and the United States. She also owns Ah Nui Asian Foods and Horny Co Sauce. Renée refined her culinary expertise at leading New York restaurants, gained hands-on experience on organic farms in France, and completed a residency in Hong Kong to further explore Chinese cooking.

    She is the founder of Galloway's Wholesome Foods. Growing up in an Ismaili Gujarati family in East Africa, she developed a deep passion for wholesome, flavorful cooking that continues to inspire her work today.

  • Chef

    He began his culinary career in Toronto, training under acclaimed chefs including Susur Lee and Anthony Walsh. He later honed his craft in Spain with renowned innovators such as Juan Mari Arzak and Andoni Luis Aduriz, shaping his creative and disciplined approach to cuisine. His international experience continues to influence his refined, technique-driven cooking style.

    From Guadalajara, he was raised in his grandmother’s kitchen, where he learned that food is rooted in culture, tradition, and connection. His journey took an unexpected turn from certified diamond appraiser to a dishwasher in Canada, working his way up to managing kitchens, owning restaurants, and ultimately becoming a chef. Today, he teaches hands-on cooking classes focused on creating memorable food experience with plenty of laughs along the way.

    Kiernan Nichols and Trevor Pavle are co-founders of Savora Kitchen, a Vancouver-based culinary company offering hands-on cooking classes, small-group food experiences, restaurant consulting, and private event and wedding catering in a welcoming, modern setting.

    Chef Trevor draws inspiration from British Columbia’s coastal abundance, crafting Pacific Northwest–inspired menus grounded in classic Italian technique and delivering restaurant-quality dining in intimate environments.

    Chef Kiernan brings a global perspective shaped by culinary work across Spain, Sweden, Canada, and the United States, creating striking seasonal dishes that highlight the beauty of British Columbia’s exceptional produce.

  • The Soul of Mexican Cuisine

    Mole is one of Mexico’s most iconic and complex dishes. Rich, layered, and deeply rooted in tradition. In this hands-on class, we’ll demystify mole and guide you through the process of making a classic Mexican mole from scratch. You’ll learn how to work with dried chiles, spices, nuts, and seeds to build depth of flavour, balance heat, and create a sauce that’s both bold and harmonious. We’ll prepare a traditional mole and serve it with a complementary protein, along with classic accompaniments.


  • Traditional Mexican Soup Class

    Pozole is a beloved Mexican dish often served during celebrations and family gatherings. In this class, we’ll focus on building a rich, flavourful broth and understanding the role of chiles, protein, and garnishes that make pozole so special.

    You’ll learn how to prepare a traditional pozole (rojo or verde), including the chile base, protein preparation, and proper seasoning. We’ll finish with the classic garnishes that bring brightness and balance to the dish.

    This is a comforting, approachable class that highlights the heart of Mexican home cooking.

  • Hands-on Traditional Workshop

    Tamales are one of the most traditional and communal foods in Mexican cuisine — and one of the most misunderstood. In this fully hands-on class, you’ll learn how to make tamales from start to finish.

    We’ll cover masa preparation, filling options, proper wrapping techniques, and steaming. Each participant will assemble their own tamales while learning the fundamentals that ensure light, fluffy results every time.

    This is a highly interactive class with plenty of technique, tradition, and hands-on learning.

  • Mexican Comfort Food Class

    Enchiladas are a staple of Mexican cuisine, but the key to great enchiladas lies in the sauce. In this class, you’ll learn how to prepare a traditional enchilada sauce from scratch and assemble enchiladas properly without sogginess or overpowering flavours.

    We’ll cover sauce preparation, tortilla handling, filling options, and finishing techniques, creating a dish that’s both comforting and well-balanced.

    This is a practical, approachable class perfect for home cooks looking to elevate a familiar dish.

  • Beef bulgogi with mixed vegetable bibimbap from scratch over mixed grain rice with housemade gojujiang and a quick kimchi
